Watching the impending cyclone very closely. I don't live quite where it will impact, but much of Queensland could experience flooding. Don't need a third flood please :(

This is the current track map of the cyclone. I live about 500km from where this cyclone will hit. The rain expected afterwards is about 200mm in my area in 24-48 hours. These conditions caused widespread flooding back in 2011 and again in 2013. Wind gusts of up to 260km an hour at the core of the storm.

This cyclone could track closer to where I live in Bundaberg.

Everyone is nervous of what the next 4-5 days will bring across the whole of Queensland.

Thanks Kettenhund. We won't get the storm here. It's mainly the rain and river flooding that will be our issue where I am. My parents are nervous. Last flood they got trapped in the top floor of their house for 5 days and lost all their belongings, photos, documents etc.

Waiting with baited breath now

Floods are terrible. My hometown flooded really bad once and it destroyed houses, roads, cars and the drinking water got contaminated. That's so terrible about your parents. :( I hope it wont be nearly as bad this time.

@ Kruspe12: Stay safe and please keep in touch! That's just horrible what happened to your parents.
I'm hoping that there will be no one hurt, no casualties. I also hope the animals get through it, too.
Stay safe! xxx

Thanks for the kind wishes everyone. I have been watching the news and cyclone radar very closely. It is moving very slowly and building intensity. Really feeling for those up north. Will have to see if we get the flooding rain further down here in the next few days. It is predicted we will get around 100-200mm in a couple of days time... :zap:
