I read about Tannbach - Schicksal eines Dorfes (Tannbach - the fate of a village) in Berliner Morgenpost the other day and I really want to see it as I'm interested in German books and films about this time.

It's about life in a small German village right after the War and how life there changed when the country was suddenly divided. The border went right through this village. This is based on an actual village and people who lived there. The series is in three parts and you can watch it here for free: http://tannbach.zdf.de/ZDF/zdfportal/pr ... 3/20387801

It's in German and there are no subtitles as far as I know. But I thought someone might enjoy it. :)

I've been watching part of it and it is a war drama about what happened the last days of the war, so it is sometimes pretty sad and bloody. And many of them speak with a Bavarian accent and can be hard to understand, even for other Germans. I still like it, it's well made and shows what happened to Germany after the war.

Thank you, already watched a part   Bavarian is a bit harder to listen to indeed ... but I knew that alrady. I was writing with a girl from Munchen who thought Paul was hard to understand , while for me he speaks very clearly.I knew then that I would have trouble understanding her :)
