I thought it would be interesting to collect information about the German way of life.

I'm starting with Angelika Taschen: " Der Berliner Stil "

translated in English in Berlin Street Style – A Guide to Urban Chic

I've stumbled upon this book and am tremendously curious. But I must admit I'll read first Inès de la Fressange's "The Parisian" :P

My son found this quite hilarious book in Germany , two weeks ago. It's about an Englisman who starts to work and live in Germany.
A plus for the non and starting German readers, It's in English but when you turn the book it's in German :) So you can try to read in German and when you don't understand you can go to the English part :)

Does it count if it's Austrian and not German? Well I found it so cool that I thought it would deserve a link

I was looking for a thread about the interpretation of R+ songs

I've come across this article about the vestiges of cold war dividing Germany

http://www.washingtonpost.com/blogs/wor ... ?tid=sm_fb

particularly this statitiscs

which made me think of the song "Mein Land" : "Wohin gehst du? Wohin? Ich geh mit mir von Ost nach Süd - Wohin gehst du? Wohin? Ich geh mit mir von Süd nach West"

I've always interpreted it as referring to internal migration in Germany, I really wonder if the final lines of the song about "my forgotten land" are not about Germany in general, but East Germany
