*MEINE KOLLEGEN SIND SEHR FREUNDLICH UND LUSTIG. ES GIBT AUCH IMMER VIEL ZU TUN.

*for the second you can say in on different ways :

Ich habe einen zwillingsbruder der eine minute jünger ist als ich.
ich habe eine minute jüngeren zwillingsbruder
mein zwillingsbruder ist ein paar minuten jünger als ich

i guess there are more possible but maybe later :D does it help ?

Yes, thanks so much Punky! Danke schön!

I've thought of a couple of other things;

How would you say the years 1997 and 2003 when you're speaking them?

How do you say "I can't decide"?

hupsie i saw i rold you one little bit wrong sentence you can say:

ich habe einen eine minute jüngeren Zwillingsbruder ^_^

do you meanj i write it in words?

1997 = neunzehn hundert sieben und neunzig
1998 = neunzehn hundert acht und neunzig
1999 = neunzehn hundert neun und neunzig

from 2000 is a little bit different ^_^
2000 = Zweitausend
2001 = Zweitausendeins
2002 = Zweitausendzwei
2003 = Zweitausenddrei
2004 = Zweitausendvier
2005 = Zweitausendfünf
2006 = Zweitausendsechs
2007 = Zweitausendsieben
2008 = Zweitausendacht
2009 = Zweitausendneun
2010 = Zweitausendzehn oder auch zwanzigzehn

and i can`t decide =
ich kann mich nicht entscheiden or
ich kann es nicht entscheiden ^_^

Thanks Punky, I'd be lost without you! :hug: :hug:

Just thought of something else;

My favourite subject is French because languages interest me. I also like History.

I have a bit of an odd question. It is about the lyrics for Heirate mich.
Herz.com has this line written like this:
geh ich nun graben jede Nacht
zu sehen was noch übrig ist
von dem Gesicht das mir gelacht {of the face that smiled for me}

But gelacht, well, when I look that up, doesn't mean smiled. It means laughed. Gelächelt means smiled, right?
I tried looking on my album cover, thinking that Herz.com just had a typo. But my Herzeleid cover has the lyrics in French! And the other cover {the orange daisy cover that I had to buy from Russia} doesn't have any lyrics :?

Soooo my question is ... does Herz.com just have a typo and the lyric really is von dem Gesicht das mir gelächelt? Or did he translate it wrong? Cause to me, if the word is 'laughed' and not 'smiled' then it changes the feel of the entire song :shock: To my ears, it sounds like he says gelacht. :oops:

I've been meaning to ask about this for a very, very long time, but tonight when I wanted to talk about it in the lyrics thread, I realized I didn't ask and so, before I discussed the lyrics, I felt I should know *all* of them ;) heehee

the translation with what was smiling for me is right. :hug: the gelacht on that way how he use it in that song is an older form to say it. normal we say like:
das gesicht das für mich gelächelt hat but in midevaltimes they sayed das gesicht das mir gelacht you know???

to explain the context: he lost someone beloved (roumors say that he means his own realy father) them he goes to the cementary "to searching every night for the face that smilled for him" then he find the grave, open it put the skull and bones out but the skelleton is braking in peaces and falling back. and it exist an reason why he screams at the end :lol: : (der rote hahn den morgen grüßt ich hab dem kopf ihm abgehaaaaaaaaaaaaaackt.) its possible that he mea<ns his own "best part of his body " :lol: and he does something strange with it

maybe i can do that interpretation into the meanfull lyrics thread????

Thanks Punky, that word has been really pestering me :hug:
Heirate mich is one of my favorite songs. I understand him being insane with grief and digging up her body, but there are some lines that I'm not sure exactly what they mean.

Such as:
und auf dem Zaun der rote Hahn
ist seiner Zeit dein Herz gewesen

and:
Die Furcht auf diesen Zaun gespießt

I'm still trying to figure out what they mean. I translated them, and I see them translated on other sites. So I know what the words are, but I don't really know what he means by them :oops: :oops: :oops:

I would love to hear what you think of Heirate mich too Punky ^_^

^ :lol: What a cute example ;)
Thanks :hug: I'm glad that it means smiled instead of laughed. I still wonder about some of the other aspects of the song, but I think most of that is because I am not a native German speaker ;)
