Deutsche Welle has German language courses as well as video and radio broadcasts. But of course since the channel is offered through Dish TV in the US, so if your in the US you have no access to the live video stream.

I don't know if this is interesting to anyone else, but I find German-language crossword puzzles useful and fun. (while sometimes mind-breaking, but that is another thing...)

I dunno if these are the best or anything, but here are a few I have found. :)

http://www.schwedenraetsel.net/ (has a large weekly crossword with solution available)
http://www.nordbayern.de/raetsel_index.asp (daily puzzle and automatically checks entries as you type them)
http://www.berlinnachrichten.de/kreuzwortraetsel/ (daily crossword and the solution to the previous day's)

NOTE: The puzzles generally will use AE, OE, UE, SS instead of äöüß

Need some help with them?

a couple german language online thesauri: ;)
http://wortschatz.uni-leipzig.de/ (excellent, IMO)
http://synonyme.woxikon.de/ (haven't used it much)

and some people submit questions and their answers from actual crosswords:

Double post :P

I just found this site, it's pretty cool.

German word of the day.
You can hear the word spoken by a native as well as a sentence with the word in it, very helpful :)

ETA:

I'm not doing a triple post :P

This is a pretty cool dictionary:
The Free Dictionary. It's not just in German, but in several other languages. You can get the actual German definition, instead of only the translation.

Post subject:  Deutsch Nominativ, Akkusativ und Dativ, Erklärung

I'm studying German and so far I have found the Nominativ, Akkusativ and Dativ to be the most difficult. A bit of a google search bought up this...

Hopefully this helps someone :)

That's handy :)
I've actually been posting quite a lot of things about the different cases in the Deutsch für Anfänger thread.

I have that thread open and have been going through it slowly. As a beginner, I find the hardest is getting these three things straightened out and this is the first thing I have found that explains them simply and clearly.

I have a mock-test tomorrow and with this I feel a little more confident, by the time the real test comes around, I should be a lot better. I might actually be speaking deutsch properly ;)

A very sweet friend of mine showed me this link tonight.
I think last year sometime we had talked about the FreeRice website. Where you answer questions and when you get them right, they donate X amount of rice to this United Nations World Food Program or something like that. Anyway, they've added subjects and one of them is German. It's pretty basic vocabulary and they have levels so once you've gone through one, you can move up :)

I know Deutsche Welle has been mentioned, but I´d like to highlight their online course(and the best of all - it´s free  ). I find it very useful.
http://deutschkurse.dw-world.de/KursPlattform/WebObjects/KursPlattform.woa/wo/7.1

Not to mention their great podcasts - especially the brilliant, exciting germanised telenovela "Jojo sucht das Glück".

If your german is pretty basic this one is good as it leaves you time repeat the words several times:

Radio Goethe for german, swiss and austrian music - the latest podcast includes Rammstein too:
http://weblog.radiogoethe.org/

The Goethe Institut is also a good resource for german learners:
