Well I had one good idea for the year, and it was getting close to the end of the year, so ...

I'm learning German on my own, but with German friends helping me. I'm sorta hung up on the grammar rules right now :|
But I could help with some basic things. I have my phrase book in my bag at all times {like a little yellow security blanket  } and some pretty good books :D

This is a wonderful idea. Perhaps at one point in the future we could even organize another Skype session - but in German?

@ SaMy: This is way in the future, when people are comfortable trying to speak German. And Skype is easy to find: Skype.com :D

Henny says that I've already done enough damage with my Skype idea. Let's put this on the back burner. No Skype. Now, how do people feel about this new section? Would you be interested? Would you contribute?

i have a coupel favorites:

verbix: will conjugate any verb you have. will do more than German if you want it to.
http://www.verbix.com/languages/german.shtml

and
New English-German dictionary:
http://www.iee.et.tu-dresden.de/cgi-bin ... /search.sh
it's like a full dictionary. it usually comes up with multiple hits for each word. so if you're translating into German, it's best to do a reverse look up on your options before you use one (to make sure it's correct for the circumstances).

some good references or places to explain grammar:
http://www.german-grammar.de/index.htm
^ titled "learn German online"

this one looks like it's for a college class of some sort. not sure though. the input links are broken for the quiz sections. but it may still be good to practice the rules on there and maybe talk to other people who use that site or German learners.

My favorites are ...

www.leo.org ~ English/German dictionary

www.dict.cc ~ English/German dictionary

both have audio so you can click on the word and hear it. The dict.cc one speaks a bit slower, which is nice! hehe
Also the dict.cc site has a vocab builder and you can make your own lists of words to make sort of flashcards out of them.

leo.org can really help with conjugating verbs, which is why I really like it. Because my 501 German verbs book is too heavy to carry around

I also like http://babelfish.altavista.com/ Although all the books say do NOT rely on translators because they are not really perfect. But it does help with catching misspellings ;)

Also about.com has lessons and information they can email you on a daily/weekly basis. They are pretty cool too. Hyde {the 'teacher'}mentions Rammstein a bit :D

Thanks Henny, for the new section!

Well, I don´t have any links for you, but if you want to know something about the German language, feel free and ask any time!

Like I said in the other thread - I think this is one AWESOME idea! :D

I've been learning German only a bit over a year now, so my skills are pretty... eh, minimal. But I'm very eager to learn more! So YAY for the new section! :bounce:

Dear Ladies, this is an extraordinary idea!!! :bounce: I have improved my English here, I have learnt slang, and how to express feelings, so it's a good way to practice languages. I like the idea! count me in! :D
