^ At least some governments have the balls to say the right thing. Over here, we're getting women's services cut, maternity wards shut, NICU's shut, you name it, and the number of midwives etc etc going down. And yet they still expect us to thrive. What next? Being expected to have a normal blood count at all times etc? Stupidly impossible, and that's from someone whose woman issues caused her to become Anaemic, and don't tell me that it wouldn't be wrong to bring up a baby with my genetics, as I'm sorry, but having a child who would be allergic to the century would be a blow to me because my mum is already and I probably have the genes, and it just would not be right (for me because I'm Anaemic, and for the child because of the extent of the allergies and whatnot that could come on)

Some of you may have heard of the abortion rights activists Women on Waves http://www.womenonwaves.org/en/page/650/who-are-we and their unique work to provide women's health and reproductive control information (including abortion services) to women in countries who prohibit such information and services. They do so by sailing a ship to these countries and remaining in international waters so that their clients don't break any laws.

When this ship recently approached Morocco (I'll refrain from commenting about the issue of womens' rights here) - they were met by WARSHIPS. As I commented on Facebook - I have no doubt that if the Women on Waves ship had continued on, I'm darned certain that they would have been fired upon. Of course this is speculation on my part, but I don't think I'm exaggerating at all. How terribly *ironic* - that while abortion is illegal in Morrocco (and other muslim states), this country would have no problem with endangering the lives of the female crew and health care providers, if not killing them. No surprise at all. And keep in mind too, that they were in *international* waters.

Here's the story: http://www.care2.com/causes/warships-me ... rocco.html

^What an absolute outrage!!! The way the Islamic faith treats women gets up my nose enough as it is, but to do THIS? They just want to control women in any way they can, and to hell with ANYTHING that contradicts that, such as LAW (they were sailing in international waters, that means you need to keep your nosey beak out, Morocco!) common sense or even compassion (but then again, we all know that for the most part male Muslims do not have compassion for their women whatsoever). I cannot even articulate myself better than that at this present moment, I'm shaking with rage. :(

Finally, a little bit of progress in Northern Ireland, with the first private abortion clinic set to open.

^ and ^^ Fucked-up ignorant fucking idiots. Seriously, why put a woman's life in danger? Because some religious groups think that abortion is wrong? Jeez, men, get a fucking grip, and pardon my swearing, but that clinic in NI needs to be kept open, and countries in the east etc etc need to realise that women are humans too, and being raped has NOTHING to do with what clothing is worn because a woman can get raped no matter what she wears, but then of course we won't hear about the 19-year-old girl who is getting married and gets arrested because she got raped by a man who was not her husband-to-be, or the woman who gets killed because she left an abusive marriage. Shows how idiotic men can be, as all of these stupid laws were created by men FOR the benefit of men (that's how I put it)

Ladies, this is the type of moron we have to deal with here in Ireland, the type who compare the fight to have our country legislate on abortion to the slaughter in Newtown.

^FACE.PALM. If anyone can even try to draw a comparison between the legalisation of abortion and a gun toting maniac and the lives lost during his rampage, then that person is a class A IDIOT.

He's just the tip of the iceberg. Google 'Youth Defence';the stormtroopers of the pro-life argument here in Ireland. Back in 1992, when I was a regular on pro choice marches here in Dublin, I was at risk of being beaten up by these nuts. The whole argument for the legalisation of abortion in Ireland has been put firmly back in the spotlight since the death of Savita Halappanavar in Galway.

^ They might even get the death penalty though, unfortunately, one of them took the coward's way out (apparently)

The women of Texas who believe in freedom of reproductive choice have Senator Wendy Davis to thank:

The consequences would have been huge, had this bill become law.

^ Amazing - she redefined the word "Dedication". But sadly, from what I've read, new bills can still be presented.
