^ Thank you so much! I just listened to the whole thing. I love that they played My Companjera. I love that song! ^_^

I love hearing Eugene talk, I have always liked Eastern European and Russian accents. ( I think he looks good too. ) Btw, his real name is Yevheniy Aleksandrovich Nikolayev-Simonov.

Some of my favourites:

Start wearing purple: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_6IJfo4q1zk

I like this version of My Comanjera: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hH_OQyWyzQ0 I just love the violin player.

Mishto: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c8BLPJOZ1sU Mishto is a Romani expression, kind of like "Great!" when something is good.

Pala Tute: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=08o9mUGiif4 Means "I will follow you until I die."

Super Taranta: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xYx-ZtbRPg0 It is a sort of really fast "exorcism dance" where especially women who were posessed would dance to the music until they passed out, to drive the devil out of the body.

This thread has come at an opportune time. I've just started delving into their stuff. THEY'RE SO MUCH FUN. :D I can't help but smile when I listen to them. I'm also a fan of how they incorporate gypsy music into their sound. It's really nice hearing a band that clearly loves doing what they do. ^_^

That is so cool.
Gogol Bordello are lots of fun. 8) And their music really resonates with me, since I'm Romanian. It sounds so familiar.
I really love Start Wearing Purple and Mishto. And American Wedding!

@BeeKay Thank you for the link)
It would be just great if Gogol Bordello and R+ made some music together. I like GB soooooooo much :eee:
Always loved these songs:

Wonderlust King (live video) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ULSKzmNXuGU
Through the Roof 'n' Underground http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bYrInL82NmI
Strange Uncles from Abroad http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MbND5MGmfvo
(live video) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nJ00E9Wmqc0
Baro Foro + Undestructable (live video) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tchPdAx8Jrk

And their last albums are brilliant too, especially Trans-Continental Hustle.

And here's Eugene singing Ukrainian folk song 'Why didn't you come' - 'Chom ty ne pryishow' with his Grandmother) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zPQJ_9_YAdQ - from the documentary 'The Pied Piper of Hutzovina' - http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0847511/plo ... _=tt_ov_pl

From my understanding, they put out a new album last month. Has anyone heard that yet?

You're right, their new album 'Pura Vida Conspiracy' was released last month.

For me it's better than their previous album :)

Singer Eugene is turning 42 today. :cham2:

I just love this clip of him singing "I won't be sorry". A song he made up right before this show basically and after being awake for 50 hours. Pretty well done for someone who doesn't have English as his own language. :D

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9y2xFcSk8mc

Poor Eugene, he sounds so raspy when he's been up too long.  But I love the song. Too bad it has not been recorded.

Those guys are fun to watch, so flamboyant. They make you want to jump, or just kick your legs about if you got bit of punk in yourself. I was quickly impressed by their Glastonbury show few years ago [seen on tv, I don't do mud! ] and bought the Super Taranta album ( love the Wanderlust King song!) but they are much better to watch than to play on a cd. Although the lyrics with their easy rhymes are quite amusing.
