The Korean one?? That is one of the all time greatest films, I love it!! Especially the squid, yuck yuck  I am really annoyed that Spike Lee has remade it, why does the US feel the need to remake these films :headwall: Don't touch them, they are great as they are....

Julie and Julia. It's not a masterpiece, but I enjoyed. I liked the idea that Julie found a way to save herself from a life she didn't like thanks to Julia, even if the "imagined" Julia Child and the "real" Julia Child collide at the end.

I've seen both versions of Oldboy, the Korean one is definitely more messed up (which makes me love it more). The American version is decent, but no where near as good.I was quite annoyed that in the bonus features of the remake no one even mentioned that it was originally a Korean movie.

"Smetto quando voglio" (I stop when I want), an Italian comedy dealing with brain drain of researchers.

Seven former university researchers always between jobs become drug producers and drug dealers. The film is absolutely hilarious even if they are bitter laughs, when you know the actual situation of Italian research funding.

Here is the trailer https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=seEhOShK0cc

Nelson Mandela - Long Walk to Freedom

I took a while to watch it because I had been busy but I absolutely loved it! It felt a bit..."condensed" but how can you tell a story like that in 2 hours? You can't I guess

We don't go to the movies very often, but we went to see 300 Rise of an Empire on Saturday, and while I can't say it's one of the best movies I've ever seen, I liked it a lot. The battles were exciting, and it was pretty to look at (except when it was bloody  ) and I just liked it :D . We thought about going to see Noah, but decided on the 300 because it wasn't as long and we had other places we wanted to go on our kid-free night :rolling:

I saw Captain America 2 The Winter Soldier last night and it was really really really good. I am going to be buying it as soon as it is available for purchase.

Maleficent

First movie I've watched in a long time and I really liked it. Angelina Jolie is gorgeous in the film and played the role well. I like this version of the story and one scene with Maleficent and the sleeping princess brought tears to my eyes. And I liked how the crow was looking after the baby. The movie felt a little too short though.

12 years as a slave. I was acquainted with other films about slavery since the old "Roots" tv-series this film quoted in many ways. However, it added details about the relationships among people I probably didn't grasp at the time. The film is very well played, heavy at times because of its content but still a must.
