^ Oh my, Franz Ferdinand! They were my first-ever favourite band. Haven't listened to them for years, you just reminded me I should again. Thank you!

I seem to remember that their lead guitarist is a short curvy man and, at least back when I was 14-15, was widely considered by the female fans to have a very nice ass...

^ Alex was one of my first crushes. Just my type - beautiful pin-up-boy face
My best friend at the time was in love with Bob! I remember he was adorable! And Nick had a beautiful arse!

To stay on topic, my current top 5 -
1. R+ of course
2. Blue Öyster Cult
3. Ani DiFranco
4. Lil Kim (no apologies, I like quite a bit of rap and Kim is the queen)
5. Florence + The Machine

1) Marty Stuart & his Fabulous Superlatives and the Del McCoury Band/Travelin' McCourys.
2) Whiskers Galore (local band).
3) Federals (my guitar teacher's band).
4) Rammstein.
5) Iron Maiden.

They are the bands that I would listen to mostly. As for why I put 7 bands, it's because the 3 at no1 are the ones that I would most go and see, and the Del McCoury Band and the Travelin' McCourys are the exact same band, just that they're the Del McCoury Band when the guitarist is Del McCoury, and the Travelin' McCourys when Del is at home and another guitarist takes the spot (depends on time and place, as the guitarist spot changes every so often).

OMG, all this talk of Franz Ferdinand. I love their music, and I've always been especially fond of Alex and Nick. Particularly Alex. :eee: I hope that LP4 will come out some time next year.

^ Dude. Muse. You have my utmost respect.

Getting back on topic, my current Top 5, not really in any order:

1. Staind
2. Daft Punk
3. Lana del Rey
4. Five Finger Death Punch
5. Oh Land

I like way too many bands, and all of them for different reasons, so it was really tough to narrow it down to just five. My criteria were that I have to like most of their albums start to finish and they have to have been very influential on me in some way.

In no particular order:

Metallica
R+
Ion Dissonance (I would put Meshuggah here, but I'm not a fan of the direction they went after Destroy Erase Improve)
Death
Slayer

...and KMFDM gets runner-up :D

1) Same as my previous post.
2) Gibson Brothers.
3) Goran Bregovic and his Wedding & Funerals band/orchestra (size ranging from 9 members to 50+ members).
4) Nightflyer.
5) Leroy Troy.

Still love all that I mentioned in my previous post that weren't at no1, but these are the acts I've been listening to most recently. Actually, all bands I like who have someone I idolise are at no1, but it's a shame I couldn't put them all there (and Leroy is there because... well... anyone who has seen the Marty Stuart show will know who I'm on about)
